MEMORIAL DAY

M – Memories of the uniqueness of this day for many
E – Escape importance somehow, someway.
M – May you be encouraged however to take some time today,
O – Open your heart and breathe a prayer –
R – Remembering and being thankful for the country where you live.
I - In this moment remember the many who have given lives
A – As they fought wars over the last few centuries.
L – Let us also remember those who lives became forever changed because of disablement and/or disfigurement.

D – Do not take this day for granted –
A – All at once it could be gone and forgotten – without meaning at all.
Y – Yes, remember many of our ancestors came here fleeing for their very lives, many gave their lives in wars, some in starvation, some in disease, some at sea as they traveled towards this freedom – freedom is not free, it has a price, and sometimes that price is the life of a loved one. So hold your freedom in reverence today with thanksgiving.

SUNDAY

S - Salute to our troops in all divisions today;
U - United we stand with you.
N - Not always do we understand it all;
D - Doing what is asked even when it disrupts life and plans.
A - Always keep in mind when you are serving,
Y - You remain in our minds, hearts and prayers whether family, friend or stranger - we know you are doing as you have been asked.

Take the time to pause in quietness out of respect for those who are serving and for those who have served - blessings, hopefully I will see you later today or else tomorrow. June

SATURDAY

S - Savoring our freedom today -
A - Ah....how wonderful it is -
T - To do the things that we enjoy
U - Undisturbed by blasting bombs and gunfire.
R - Remember and say a prayer for those
D - Disturbed by these things on a daily basis.
A - America - sometimes we take you for granted.
Y - You are a country we need to appreciate.

I am going to post my song shortly for the Saturday night blogstream. All of my posts through Monday will contain writings of mine in honor of our military in one way or another. By the way: the young Navaho I was with last week is back in town with an ID; he is settled in the shelter; he starts a job tomorrow; and he is starting a walk with God!!! Praise the Lord with us!
