As I was reading this morning this came to mind -

If ignorance of a law does not absolve one from the consequences of breaking the law then why should ignorance of the truth absolve one from the consequences of choosing not to believe and follow the truth?

I found this quote in my morning reading - the reading is really too heavy to promote my thoughts to writing at this time -
Louise DeSalvo: "My work has changed my life. My work has saved my life. My life has changed my work."

What are your thoughts of this quote. In my meditative reading of one book there is alot of referral to Virginia Woolf and quotes from Louise - some really deep thinking is brewing within me.

NESTLING THE SPIRIT
Nestled in the warm embrace
Of a fluffy blanket wrapped 'round -
How safe it is to be at rest
In this somewhat temporary nest.
Watching the flames flicker in the stove
Giving cheery warmth to the nose -
Giving light to brighten the space
Keeping the shadows from this place.
Feeling the presence of the Spirit
Bringing warmth deep within -
Bathing the spirit with love
Healing the brokenness therein.
Knowing this special blessing
Of the Spirit's love and care -
Enables one to take a moment
To rest and be at peace.
Nestle - Rest - Bathe - Heal - Peace.

Embrace the day as the Spirit reaches to hold you - June

DIVERSITY AND UNITY
Diversity is part of creation:
Differences we see all around
In plants and in animals
There is variety of color and species,
Created for many and different purposes
Yet blending together to make a beautiful world.
Differences are also found in each person around,
There is variety in color, nationality and personality,
There is different talents, gifts and opportunities
That give rise to a variety of wonderful people on this ground.
Yet in the diversity and differences
A wonderful blend of harmony can be found
When each and every one remembers
That it is God who has gifted all with life as they are.
So accept your individuality knowing it is God’s gift to you,
Then take the opportunity to let Him use your giftedness
To fulfill His purpose here in this world below.
And also another thing -
Embrace and accept the differences in those around you,
Allowing them to live out their giftedness from God.
In doing this we will make the world a better place
By living in unity embracing all the diversity.

LISTENING TO THE WINTER
Hear the howl of the winter wind -
Screeching through the trees so bare;
Hear the crunch of the frozen ice and snow -
Breaking beneath the footsteps so slow;
Hear the whisper of the snowflakes -
Twirling through the air;
Hear the silence of the long dark night -
Resting quietly and waiting.
Hear the groaning of the spirit within -
Crying out from the emptiness within;
Hear the breaking from the heavy weight -
As the heart sags and drags;
Hear the whisper of the Spirit -
Waiting patiently for a welcome;
Hear the welcome of the silence -
Come, rest, wait and heal.
