A FATHER’S LOVE
A father’s love calls one to commitment -
Commitment to unconditional love -
Commitment to forgiveness -
Commitment to show God to one’s children
In any way that one knows how.

A father’s love calls one to love -
When things are good and when things are bad,
When choices made are different than one would make,
When one would rather turn heel and walk away,
When one is sure there is no more love to give.

A father’s love calls one to know -
How to receive back the erring child,
How to encourage the failing child,
How to walk with the child who is weak,
How to affirm the child who does well.

A father’s love is enhanced and perfected -
As one recognizes dependence upon God,
As one follows God and nurtures one’s life,
As one accepts the challenges along with God’s power,
As one makes God #1 in their life each and every day.

THE CRY OF A STARVING SOUL
I am hungry -
I am lonely -
I am hurting -
Can you not feel the pain within?

Death lingers at the door -
Disappointment looms as a thundercloud -
Crushing pain sucks the breath -
How long can life endure?

Help me, please -
There has to be something more to life;
Can you not sit for a moment
And commune with your soul within?

But it is so scary -
I have always lived life this way -
I cannot imagine there is any better way -
At least not for me.

Maybe another day -
Maybe but I need to know for sure -

I have heard it said that Abraham Lincoln would pause after lunch in his chair, place a coin between his thumb and finger, lean back close his eyes and relax. When the coin dropped he got up and continued with his day - he said it was always necessary to rest a bit. I was reminded of this in my reading this morning - maybe you need to take this and put it in a place where you see it to give you peace - blessings and of course peace! June

As I was reading this morning the summary of being passionate about life that I found is this: connect your authentic self and your passion and your life will no longer be fragmented and broken; rather it will be fulfilled and complete.

PASSION
Poured out completely
And
Set fervently on course
Surrendered to one's inner call.
It takes courage and strength -
Obstacles can and will be overcome and
Now life has opportunity to reach fulfillment.

COURAGE YIELDS HARVEST

Days have been darkened with clouds,
Rain has fallen -
Hail has dropped -
Thunder banged and lightening flashed.

Nights have been darker still,
Stars hidden -
Moon absent -
Ominous sounds in the dark stillness.

The Spirit hovers quietly,
Ever present -
Ever aware -
Waiting in the stillness.

The Presence is there,
Somewhat obscure -
Somewhat there -
I believe.

Courage is promised,
Strength is endued,
Rest is given,
And now I move on.
