MONDAY

M - May we truly take to heart today the need to
O - Open our hearts and not only preserve our freedom but share it as well.
N - Now let me ask you - have you ever took the time to listen to another's story.
D - Do you have all the answers for why they need to go back where they came from?
A - Are you remembering where you or your family came from - fleeing persecution and fear of death or______?
Y - Yes, I think today many in our country need to take stock of the distorted view of love they have in many of their relationships; in family, in community, in regards to colors and in regards to disabilities - and I could go on.

Saturday I sat with tears in my eyes as I listened to people seeking refuge in America and what they have endured before they ever arrived here (frankly I think I would have given up on life had I experienced half of what any one of them did). I am not saying we should accept them illegally but I am asking that maybe we need to challenge our own thinking about others who are different. May you each be blessed today - June

GOD’S PASSION

G - God loves you, yes He does;
O - Open your spirit freely and He will show you how much.
D - Dancing with the joy of His presence will
S - Show others the wonder and blessing He brings.

P - Pushing Him aside and out of mind as many try
A - At times only leads to frustration and confusion –
S - So it does.
S - Shepherds look for each lost lamb and sheep
I - Intent on protecting and loving each straying one.
O - Oh what an incredible Shepherd our God is –
N - Not one does He lose no matter how lost one may become.

Now some may say wow this is a rocking song for June's post but we were at the broadway production of Hairspray last night and this music puts dancing in my feet!!!! And this morning as I was walking I was meditating on the message of the play - love and acceptance of all people. How interesting that this is playing in Phx. on Martin Luther King weekend.

SATURDAY

S - See the beauty in all the colors God has created;
A - Allow the mixture to truly bless your spirit;
T - Today realize how boring all 'one color' can really be.
U - Understand that it will take some patience and tolerance to
R - Really show God's love to all but
D - Do not delay to capitalize on this opportunity
A - As it will enhance your life beyond your immagination.
Y - You too will want to join the dancing feet and say - "Good morning God and thank you for the beauty and wonder of all your creation."

Have a wonderful night and I hope to see you later on this evening. Meanwhile I will be spending time with my refugee single mom from Burundi today - I love this lady and her two children. And if you think life has thrown you some curves this lady has had more than her share and yet usually has a smile on her face. Spent several years running as a refugee; separated from her husband in the throes of it all for five years; finally found got to the same refugee camp as he was. He was in the camp 8 years and she for 3 before they were given status here in America. Less than two months after they arrived her husband became very ill and was hospitalized; he never returned home and died four months later leaving her a young widow, in a foreign country where she did not know the language at all with two children to care for. In the 18 months she has been alone she has gotten a job; studied and passed CNA test; cares for two children 13 & 4; walks her son to daycare one mile from home catches bus for a 1 and 1/2 hour ride to work and then repeat at the end of day after working 8 hours as CNA. She leaves home a 5:15 am and returns home about 5:30 pm. Monday through Friday. I believe in the beauty of color and love what they all add to my life.

W - Welcome rest and quiet
I - Invest deeply in peace and restoration
N - Nestled deep within your spirit
T - Tuck the presence of Spirit’s feeding
E - Experiencing healing and rejuvenation
R - Rest at peace for this time.

S - Spirit, come and walk with me

L - Leave me not to flounder on my own
S - Stay close so I am not alone
T - Taking life one day at a time
I - Investing in Your presence daily
C - Counting the blessings that You give

I am a bit late with this writing and I know I missed the Frieday but may this writing inspire you to take a bit of time to rest as it is a holiday weekend - blessings - June (note below is for information in regards to Monday's note)

We have not heard anything from our inquiries yet about the immigration situation; however one thing that we do know is that anyone who is legally a citizen from before these new laws should not be affected. Thus if anything would happen to our sons it would be a violation of their civil rights and the goevernment could be sued. At least that would be my understanding from when i studied our government policies when in school. When and if we find out more we will let you all know.
