Walking through the woods in the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia I noticed these bushes with large green leaves gently cradling leaves of various colors from the trees around.

THE BRIDGE OF AUTUMN
As day shortens the air is cooled -
As the air cools life begins to slow -
As life slows nature begins to surrender -
As nature surrenders beauty unfolds -
Beauty unfolds in crisp, crunchy leaves of red, gold and brown -
As leaves crunch mulch begins to form -
As mulch settles the soil receives -
As the soil receives a dream begins again -
As the dream is embraced new life is soon to be born.

DID YOU SEE THAT?
How often do you find yourself saying or hearing these words -
"Did you see that?"
And what is the response given -
What?
Where?
You got to be kidding!
No Way!
Why is it that so often one seems to be blinded
To the events, activities and creation wonders
All around and so much a part of one's life?
Is it because one is blind?
Is it because one is deaf?
Is it because one is ignorant?
No, often times it is just that -
One is too busy to see, hear and ponder -
One is too busy to be still, listen, and notice the little things -
One just flies through the days taking everything for granted -
Until it is gone or changed drastically.
God's blessings come daily -
They are gifts given to every one of us -
Your very breath one by one,
Your very pulse beat - one, two, three - - -
Your very ability to see, hear, think, feel and move -
So - what blessing(s) will you appreciate today?
Give thanks and praise for each and every one!

The new cast - a color that reminds me of God's presence because I think of Him residing not only in my life but in the heavens above. The healing is going great! Two to three weeks ahead of schedule.

WRAPPED TENDERLY IN LOVE

Broken, bruised, swollen and tender -
Stability necessary for healing to continue -
Lovingly, tenderly kind hands moved -
Around and wrapping support to give.

Broken, lonely, sad and fearful -
God's Spirit needed for healing and life -
Lovingly, tenderly He whispers and reminds
Of His constant presence, strength and care.

A bit of light at the end of the tunnel - it is growing!

The visit to the orthopedic surgeon today was beyond anything I could have imagined. And the report of the healing is absolutely miraculous - he said that things are going to be ahead of the previous schedule!!! First cast came off; staples came out; xrays revealed incredible healing already; new blue cast in place (picture next week); do a bit of weight bearing I am told when standing at the sink; and in two and a half weeks this cast comes off and should have a walking splint! God is so good to me - and I encourage you to think about giving Him a chance in your life if you have not. It does not mean there are no struggles but He sure helps one get through them. Thank you to all for your love, prayers, care and support here on the stream. You are all special!!!!! June

Goodies that have arrived at our place in the course of the last couple weeks - well and then the one picture is a goodie I received quite by accident!
Secret encouraged me to post and let you all know how I was doing. I am healing and still tire easily. I am able to keep up with some of my stuff but when I am on the comouter it is usually the lazy things I indulge in and not too much thinking. Have a doctor appointment on Friday morning so will see what that brings if anything. By then it will be three weeks down and five to go for the first round!

ALIVE AND HEALING
Alive -
Well, yes and some days that has to
good enough;
It is enough to look around and enjoy the beauty
Of color, wonder, and variety.
It is enough to take a deep breath and smell the scents
Of flowers, harvest and delectable food.
It is enough to take the time to wait
And heal from within the things that seem so broken -
Broken bones, broken hearts, broken dreams
And maybe a broken spirit too -
Let the Spirit some and take control -
Let Him hold you in His breath
And breath into you His healing touch -
And you too will be -
Alive and Healing!
