PEACE ON THE FOURTH

P - Perhaps we need to take a moment and pause -
E - Exactly what did our forefathers have in mind when they signed the documents;
A - And what exactly was their thought as they fought for independence from Great Britian?
C - Can we say that we have kept the dream alive or would they say it was dashed to pieces beyond repair?
E - Everyone has a responsibility in order for freedom to thrive - my thought - where have I failed to do my part?

IN the seriousness that faces our country at this moment today - i write this cahllenge for us to ponder as we enjoy the limited freedom we still have. Blessings - june

This is a blossom on a cholla cactus; these cactus are a real menace as they break off easily and attach themselves strongly as one walks by. If a piece is laying on the ground it easily 'jumps' and attaches itself to one as they walk by. Birds love to nest in them - I wonder why?

THURSDAY

T - Thoughtfully walk through the day,
H - Helpful be to those struggling along the way,
U - Understand that one day you may walk the path that way too.
R - Restfully and peacefully enjoy a meal,
S - Savor the tastes instead of hurriedly gulp them down,
D - Digest the taste of the foods as well as the nutrition,
A - And give God thanks.
Y - You all have a blessed day now!

W - Wonder what will line the path you walk today,
E - Excitement, elegance, or elusiveness -
D - Does it really matter; will you really notice?
N - Nudges may come from many directions - will you meet them with
E - Evasiveness or excitement accepting the lesson they bring?
S - Surely you are open to the wonder of new life and growth -
D - Day by day it comes a little at a time
A - Allowing one to gently move on in life as one
Y - Yields willingly in acceptance of the moment.

And now the National Anthem



And now you wonder why this post? Well, AzRon is from Canada - and here is a bit of the story -

After high school I went to Bible College in Saskatchewan. Many people refer to these schools as ’shoe factories.’ People go there in singles and come out in pairs (smile). Everyone back in my home town was sure that was my main purpose of attending this school however that was the least of my purposes. One friend of my father’s threatened to send me a care package with a lasso so that I could make a good catch.
Well, in the music rooms that I frequented to practice piano I met AzRon’s roommate. He was determined that we would make a good match yet no amount of convincing on his part worked. It was coming near the end of our first year of school at which time there was a banquet that could be attended as couples. I knew Ron at this time and one of my friends also thought he was a great guy and she wondered if we would go together. The signup list was past around the classrooms one morning to put down names if you were going as a couple. Ron did not sign us up as he had not asked me; however his roommate who got the paper after Ron did sign our names - my friend saw it and she then accused me of holding out on her. What a day that was - and yup - Ron bit the bullet and asked me (his roommate thought he had really scored high now!) We also had Friday night activities that could be attended as couples and since there was still about 6 -7 weeks of school left Ron also asked me out for Friday night. That Wednesday I got sick and by Thursday am was in the infirmary very sick - so - well by Friday he was in the infirmary with the flu and that was the history of our first date. But he was not deterred now - as we had a date the next week. A little over four years later we were married and Ron’s roommate prides himself to this day in our match. I lived in Canada for several years besides my education there; it is a great country. And our family has great memories of five years we lived in the city of Toronto, Ontario.

Thank you Canada for giving a home to many refugees from Russia - the ancestors of my hubby’s family. Thank you God for this beautiful land - may it be blessed for many years to come.

MONDAY

M - Moping, miserable, merry making - ?!
O - Oh what will it be today?
N - No one but you or I can really make the definite choice.
D - Days there are when one wonders why the sun came up?
A - And how it can really shine when life seems but a shroud of a cloud.
Y - Yes a bit melancholy today as readjusting to life as it is as well as remembering days when one was younger - like I have been doing the last couple of weeks through pictures and discussions shared.

Blessings for the day - and I am now going to embark on making it a new and beautiful day for the glory of my Creator! Will you do the same - June
